In 2001 Adobe Systems released the first version of Photoshop 7 as a part of the Creative Suite. In 2005 Adobe was acquired by its then-parent company, Macromedia. A year later they released a new version of Creative Suite with an updated version of Photoshop, now called Photoshop CS2. Notable features included improved image adjustment and retouching tools, 3D art design tools, and non-destructive photo editing. Today we live in a world where torrents are readily available for all sorts of content from movies to TV shows to video games to fonts. The world of software however is one that is less immediately available. Software companies like Adobe do not want to help people who would like to pirate their software, so Adobe does not make it easy for torrent users to get their hands on torrents. But this also makes getting Photoshop CS2 a bit challenging; since it’s no longer available in the shops, the only way anyone can get Photoshop CS2 is through eBay or other online marketplaces or through illegal downloading. The fact that Photoshop costs hundreds of dollars means that many people are wary of torrenting it, since the notion of spending hundreds of dollars on something you may not need seems nonsensical to them. People who don’t have access to Photoshop can still often download it illegally, but the obstacles such as ownership and credit card information add to the process. Since Adobe does not make it easy for people to torrent their software, they also do not offer any official alternative. Many torrents offer a fake license file when you use them, making it look like Photoshop is still available in shops and that you need to take action if you want to get hold of it illegally. However, the shadow market for the software has made this impossible; people who would like to pirate their software can easily find a way around these hurdles and even use the fake license files found on many Photoshop-related torrents. Adobe does not offer a direct download for Photoshop, but a lot of people have found a way to get it. A way out is to use a virtual private network, which would allow you to visit websites that are normally blocked by your Internet Service Provider. In 2004, Adobe announced that Photoshop CS3 was the successor to Photoshop 7. In this version feature enhancements included new brushes and other functionality as well as support for XML, Portable Document Format (PDF), and PDF/A (out-of-band communication). The release also brought many bug fixes and upgrades to the document management system XMP. CS3 did not use the icon introduced in the CS2 suite (a change that Adobe made to all of its products) and instead used an icon that closely resembled that of Photoshop 6. Adobe stated that the change was due to public opinion stating that "This icon better reflects the heritage of Photoshop, which started with a tool box full of various tools." Adobe Photoshop CS4 was released in April 2008. Some of its features were new tools for using content in 3D space, interactivity with videos, color correction capabilities, importing functions for PDF files and other documents in addition to PSD files. A new video editing extension called Adobe Premiere Rush CC was introduced, which could be used to edit videos right inside Photoshop. eccc085e13
